Queen Eliška was taken prisoner and transported to Mělník, the dowry castle from the Czech queens. Their three-12 months-old son Prince Václav, later on Emperor and King Charles IV, was held here for two months from the underground jail,[5] a period which he later described as a Awful imprisonment in a cellar with a single very small window.[6]
